Great review. I am trying to decide between this and the x18. Still leaning towards the BEHRINGER. Quick question if you happen to see this comment, can the monitors be used in pre or post fader mode? Can each one be selected to be either mode? I would use 2 of them for an Aux send and 2 for monitors. That is a deal breaker if they can't be switched between pre and post fader. Thanks for the review.

Subscribed! Great review and more than that, its quite a decent tutorial as well! Line6 should say "thanks"… I certainly appreciate it. You've so far done the best job of actually selling this to me – I was really searching for someone who'd do that job ^^
The stores don't seem to be up to it – too much for them, I guess…

I think I'm quite happy that they kept the focus on just those fx needed for live performance and mixing… well, admittedly, that means I have to carry more stuff, but an fx box with foot switches really has to be a separate thing.

If I got this right, its non-destructive, so what gets recorded is the dry tracks without fx (unless they maybe keep those feedback filters, idk)

So my question to you would be: are you still using it?
A lot of time has passed since 2012 – did they fix some of the issues you mentioned? Added new features?

    Hello,
Thanks for the very good explanation about the internship cape. I have the device in use now 8 months and am very happy with it. Your review has been one of the better, very pratisch. Well explained.
What I do not understand well, how can I get off the feedback, especially with the vocals. In your review is a component along which sends you on, and you see the red lines on the screen. How do I now that I stop the feedback. You see where the feedback exists, but what next?

Thanks in advance for your answer and very good review.

    Moreover, sorry for my English.
    Sincerely
    Henk

After watching a bandmate struggle with this mixer over the past couple of years, it was interesting to find this video pointing out how different it is compared to traditional mixing boards. It seems easy to learn, but only for those who want to change their thinking. I'll try to help said bandmate out. Thank you! -Napy

  5. Morgan Gävle says:

So you spend 4 hours setting up for a band at practice, say they have a gig the next night. can you save every thing you did to just plug in, power up and go from where you left off the day before?

  6. Quadcab says:

If your using a mic that doesn't require phantom power and your XLR cable is wired correctly then it shouldn't do any damage to the mic. A lot of traditional desks have a global phantom power switch anyway.

  7. Justin Arlo says:

What a great unit. I am going to purchase this mixer very soon. Being in a band and not having to carry massive amounts of equipment for sound sells this unit for me. Combine that with the fact that i'm not the greatest sound engineer in the world. We play the same venues. Being able to save the settings for our next gig is priceless. The only thing i find disappointing is this unit is not android compatible. What a huge bummer that is. I do not buy apple products.

  8. viruslived says:

I didn't know using phantom power with a mic that doesn't use it could cause damage. I thought mics that didn't use it bypassed any phantom power intake, thus not damaging it because it doesn't except it.

  9. TheMetalMusicMachine says:

You're right!!! They're trying to change the rules of the game but their approach isn't free of risks… and possibly… conceptual mistakes. Nevertheless it's nice to see new ideas being applied in spite of commercial risks, and people like you talking about virtues and flaws and how to make things better for Us! Thanks!

  10. sonicstate says:

It doesn't default channel 1 for vocals – it was just the only channel I had plugged in. But the phantom power handling does need some work imho

  11. TheMetalMusicMachine says:

Nice constructive critique!!! I suppose that this kind of equipments are designed for semi-pro musicians and not for the sound engineers.

  12. mccreature says:

While I think that some of the features of this product are amazing, I can't imagine spending all night mixing a band with those rotary encoders…maybe if I had crab claws instead of actual hands.
